BRICK CITY INSIDER

Welcome to Northern New Jersey! We are so glad you are here for the World Cup. At Brick City Insider, our goal is simple: make sure you get to the stadium gates, and back to your room, without any hassle.

Generic travel guides won't work during the World Cup. Too many people are trying to use Ubers or drive. It leads to major traffic and missed kickoffs.

But we live here. We’ve already mapped out the easy routes that avoid the crowds. We tell you exactly how the train works, where to stay that's safe and close to the stations, and what gear you must leave behind.

We did the hard work so you don’t have to.

Let’s get started. We have your plan ready.

ARRIVAL
The Rules at the Gate

METLIFE STADIUM ENTRY GATE

MetLife Stadium security is really strict for the World Cup. You must follow the rules or they won’t let you in. There are NO storage lockers. If you bring a forbidden item, you are on your own.

Leave your backpacks at home. Backpacks of any kind are BANNED.

You are only allowed one tiny, clear bag (no bigger than 12x6x12 inches) and one very small wallet or clutch [image_12.png]. If you bring anything bigger, they will turn you away. Only bring what you need for the day.

TRANSPORTATION
The Easy Train Ride

Seriously, do not try to drive or get an Uber/Lyft to the stadium. Traffic is a nightmare and generic maps cannot solve World Cup crowds. You might miss kickoff or get stuck for hours.

The best and fastest way is the NJ Transit Train.

We made the sequence easy to follow from the Essex corridor: Board at your local station, take any train towards New York City, but get off at Secaucus Junction. Then, follow the big overhead signs for the "Meadowlands" train. It takes you right to the stadium. Make sure to download the NJ Transit app and buy your round-trip ticket before you leave.

PLACES TO STAY
SAFE PLACES TO STAY THAT ARE CLOSE

We love living in Essex County because it's so easy to get to the game. But it’s not all the same. We did the homework for you [LINK: View the full local audit].

Newark and East Orange are great if you want to be as close to the train station as possible for speed. Montclair is a very nice, walkable town with great food, but a slightly longer train ride. If you want quiet and private, look at The Oranges or Millburn.

SAFETY IN BRICK CITY
Staying Safe in Brick City

We know people worry about safety when visiting a new city. But Brick City (our local name for Newark and East Orange) can be safe and fun if you know where to be.

Stick to the busy areas near the train stations. Newark Penn Station and Broad Street Station are the main hubs [image_14.png context] and always have people around.

Our Brick City Insider team only recommends properties that are in safe, well-lit corridors that we’ve checked personally. If you stay in our validated spots, you are in good hands.

🏟️ THE INSIDER GAME PLAN:

`Your Simple Goal: Get to the match, enjoy the atmosphere, and get home safe—without the traffic and stress.

Your Easy Route: Use the simple train sequence to go from the Essex corridor directly to the stadium gates, totally avoiding the gridlock.

Your Secure Plan: Know the prohibited bag rules (no backpacks!) before you leave your room, and stay connected with our simplified Connectivity Protocol.`

🛠️ MATCHDAY ESSENTIALS:

`NJ Transit App: Buy your round-trip train ticket before you leave the house to avoid massive lines.

BCH Validated Properties: If you are still looking for housing, only use spots in the safe corridors close to the train stations.

Gate Map: Find your specific gate number before you join the crowds at the stadium perimeter.

💡 INSIDER PRO-TIP:

"When the match ends, tens of thousands of people rush the shuttle station simultaneously. Stay calm, follow the signs, and don't panic. If you miss the final train connection back to the western or executive satellite towns, Newark Penn Station is your 24/7 backup. It is the only hub with 24-hour service to the rest of the sector."
